A Heartfelt Gathering: The Lenten Meal at Holy Spirit Catholic Church
The evening of February 16th saw the lower level of Holy Spirit Catholic Church filled with warmth, as the community came together to partake in a special Lenten Meal following the Stations of the Cross, officiated by Fr. Mason. The event, sponsored by the Holy Spirit Knights of Columbus, was well attended, drawing in a crowd of over 140 parishioners all eager to contribute to the church’s enduring sense of togetherness during this Holy season.
Breaking bread together, the attendees enjoyed a menu that catered to young and old. The savory crunch of breaded tilapia and crispy tater tots satisfied many, while the refreshing coleslaw provided a delightful balance. Meanwhile, a favorite among attendees of all ages was the cheese pizza, gooey and golden straight from the oven. The meal was sweetened further by a wide assortment of desserts, prepared by parish members and the Knights, ensuring that there was a treat for everyone.
The Lenten Meal was more than just a feast for the taste buds – it also served as a gathering with purpose, fortifying the spirit of giving associated with the Lenten season. Raffles with a number of prizes and a 50/50 cash drawing created excitement among the parishioners, all while contributing to a noble cause: supporting the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit Knights of Columbus. The Holy Spirit Catholic Church’s Lenten Meal was a testament to the incredible things that can happen when faith, food, and fellowship intertwine.
Meals will be held each Friday up to Palm Sunday in the lower level of the Church following Stations of the Cross at approximately 6:00 p.m. All are welcome!
