Holy Spirit Knights of Columbus Council #15748 Celebrates Achievement
On December 9th, 2025, the Holy Spirit Knights of Columbus Council #15748 proudly accepted the prestigious Star Council award during their monthly council meeting. Former Grand Knight Mr. Kraig Keck and current Grand Knight Mr. Tom Rysavy received the recognition from District Deputy Mr. Lance Mattson, a moment that symbolizes the council’s hard work and dedication throughout the year. Of course this achievement is not accomplished alone, so they were joined by Retention Directors Mr. Bobby Smith and Mr. Jay Cudzilo, and Trustee Mr. Tad Raterman to accept the award as all played a large role in meeting the goals set before them.
The Star Council award is a significant recognition within the Knights of Columbus, highlighting councils that excel in various areas, including membership recruitment, charitable outreach, and the implementation of programs that promote the Catholic faith. Council #15748 achieved its recruiting goal for 2025, showcasing the commitment of its members to grow and strengthen the community. This achievement is a testament to the collaborative spirit and unwavering dedication of all members.
In addition to the Star Council award, the council also received three other accolades:
- Columbian Award: This award recognizes councils that meet specific goals in programming and service, particularly in promoting community involvement and charitable endeavors that enhance the lives of others.
- Father McGivney Award: Named after the founder of the Knights of Columbus, this award is granted to councils that achieve excellence in membership growth, highlighting their efforts to share the mission of the Knights with more Catholic men and their families.
- Founder’s Award: This award acknowledges councils that accomplish the membership growth goals set by the national organization, reinforcing their commitment to the principles on which the Knights of Columbus was founded.
As noted during Grand Knight Tom Rysavy’s acceptance, he credits the entire council for their hard work and commitment over the last year. It is because of all the Knights at Holy Spirit Church, we could accomplish this achievement.
