On the evening of May 12, Knights from Holy Spirit Council #15748 arrived at the community garden to begin turning a plot of ground into something special for the parish and neighborhood to enjoy. They marked out the individual garden plots (32 plots in total plus one more for the Pro Ecclesia Sancta (PES) Sisters) and started laying the groundwork for a prayer garden that will sit at the north end of the space. Fr. Mason blessed the community garden on May 19th.

The Prayer Garden
The prayer garden is being designed by Knight Jerry Mills, a council member, Master Gardener, and SDSU Extension agent. Fr. Mason’s vision is straightforward: a place where gardeners and those visiting the church and adoration chapel can come to sit and pray amongst God’s creation. The garden will include benches and statues bought by Holy Spirit Knights of Columbus members. We are still in need of donations for the prayer garden plants and trees.
