Holy Spirit Council Raises $5,500 for Feeding South Dakota

This Lent, the people of Holy Spirit Parish did something worth celebrating.

Through your generosity our Knights of Columbus council raised $5,500 for Feeding South Dakota. That money funds roughly 16,500 meals for South Dakotans who needed them.

Grand Knight Tom Rysavy, Treasurer Bob Hodgdon, and Sir Knight Joe Holkup present the council’s check to Ms. Jennifer Stensaas of Feeding South Dakota.

This year we tried something different. Rather than collecting boxes and cans, we shifted to monetary donations, with QR code stations available throughout Lent and Knights present at the parish on two collection weekends. The change was simpler for everyone, and your response showed it worked.

Feeding South Dakota stretches every dollar into three meals. The math is simple, but what it means is real: families eating dinner, kids with full stomachs, neighbors who aren’t getting through a hard stretch alone.

Thank you to everyone who gave, and to every Knight who showed up to staff the collection weekends. This is what it looks like when a parish puts its faith into action.
